WPM & KDPH Formula: Gross Speed, Net Speed, Accuracy – Examples ke saath

Typing tests alag-alag tarah se speed naapte hain. Yeh guide batata hai ki TypingTez aur popular exams speed kaise calculate karte hain, taaki aap apna result sahi samajh sakein.

1. Ek “word” = 5 keystrokes

Words chhote-bade hote hain, isliye standard rule hai: 5 characters (space samet) = 1 word. “India is great ” = 15 characters = 3 standard words.

2. Gross WPM

Gross WPM = (Total characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ Time in minutes

Example: 2 minute me 400 characters → (400 ÷ 5) ÷ 2 = 40 gross WPM.

3. Net WPM (errors ke baad)

Net WPM = Gross WPM − (Wrong words ÷ Time in minutes)

Example: upar wale test me 6 words galat the → 40 − (6 ÷ 2) = 37 net WPM. TypingTez result me bada number yahi net WPM hota hai.

CPCT style: CPCT me net speed = sahi words ÷ minutes maana jaata hai (galat words count nahi hote). Dono tarike ka result lagbhag same aata hai jab accuracy achhi ho.

4. Accuracy

Accuracy % = (Correct words ÷ Total typed words) × 100

80 words me se 76 sahi → 95% accuracy. Exams ke liye 95%+ ka target rakhein.

5. KDPH – Key Depressions Per Hour (SSC)

KDPH = Key depressions ÷ minutes × 60

SpeedKeys/minKDPH
20 WPM1006,000
27 WPM~134~8,000 (SSC CGL DEST)
30 WPM1509,000 (CHSL Hindi)
35 WPM17510,500 (CHSL English)
40 WPM20012,000

6. Hindi typing me WPM

Hindi (Unicode) me matra, halant aur nukta alag keystroke hote hain – “कि” me 2 keys lagti hain. TypingTez Hindi me bhi wahi 5-keystroke rule use karta hai, jo KDPH-based exams se match karta hai.

Calculator tip

Khud calculate karne ki zaroorat nahi – typing test khatam hote hi gross WPM, net WPM, accuracy, key depressions aur KDPH sab dikhta hai.

Gross aur net WPM me kya fark hai?

Gross WPM sirf raw speed hai; net WPM me galtiyon ki penalty kat jaati hai. Exams net/correct speed dekhte hain.

10500 KDPH kitne WPM hota hai?

10,500 ÷ 60 = 175 keys/min ÷ 5 = 35 WPM.
